In the <em>Fondamenta Garzotti<\/em> I witnessed a harrowing incident at around 11:30am, which triggered the idea to delete the boat drivers from the shots.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p>I was standing by said canal to photograph a scene opposite with a yellow advertising sign of a hotel on <em>Calle Contarina<\/em> I had my tripod set up and was focused on adjusting my camera. At this point, I must not have met anyone for 20 minutes, so I thought I was alone.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-b370269 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"b370269\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-ec39774\" data-id=\"ec39774\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c47497 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"0c47497\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.highnoon.art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/DSF6420_Final_retouch_Virus_embedded_square-scaled.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-96babf7\" data-id=\"96babf7\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-12a0111 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"12a0111\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p>This only changed when, at some point, I simultaneously heard soft boat noises behind me and, at the same time, increasingly loud monkey noises. I turned around and saw the following scene:<\/p><p>About 15 metres behind me stood a man, aged between fifty and sixty and dressed all in black, who looked unkempt to me. While a cargo boat driven by a <em>Person of Colour<\/em>passed him in the canal, he was making loud monkey noises.<\/p><p>The frightening thing was not just the incident itself - it was the unbridled hatred the boatman was subjected to - because the monkey noises did not stop for minutes. Only when the boat was barely audible and finally no longer visible.<\/p><p>I was paralysed - the only thing I was able to do in that situation was to say a loud \"fascist\" and a send a windshield wiper gesture to the offender. With distance, I ask myself today what has happened to this pitiful person in life that he tries to enhance his own existence by the attempt of humiliating another person?<\/p><div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p><strong>When people make a monkey OUT OF THEMSELVES<\/strong><br \/>Stupidity that becomes encroaching, that shows its face in the inhuman, must be confronted. I do this with my means. It is an attempt, despite the severety of what took place, to express my solidarity with the person attacked, not least with a wink and irony.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><p>I was paralysed - the only thing I was able to do in that situation was to say a loud \"fascist\" and a windshield wiper gesture to the perpetrator.<\/p><p>If a <em>Person of Colour<\/em> can't travel by boat through Venice without being attacked, injured or insulted, then no one should do it in my pictures!<\/p><div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p>I would like to auction one of the pictures of the series in Venice.
